Check audio loudness
See how loud your recording is overall, how high its peaks go and how much the loudness varies. Compare the numbers with a target and save a report. This only measures your audio, so the file stays as it is.
Record up to 10 minutes. Your microphone turns off when you stop or cancel. Preview your recording before processing.
Long recordings and large files take more time to process.
By processing audio, you agree to our Terms of Service. See our Privacy Policy for file handling.
Read your loudness report
Integrated loudness describes the recording's overall level in LUFS. A less negative number is louder: a recording measured at −12 LUFS is 4 LU louder than a −16 LUFS reference. Choose −16, −14 or −23 LUFS to compare with the target you need; changing that selection does not alter the audio.
True peak, measured in dBTP, estimates peaks between digital samples. A reading close to or above 0 dBTP can indicate a risk of clipping on playback or after conversion. Loudness range, in LU, describes how much the level varies across the recording. Short or nearly silent files may not produce useful readings.
The downloadable JSON report contains the measurements. It is not an edited audio file. To adjust the recording toward our −16 LUFS target, use Normalize Audio, then check the exported result again. These readings help you compare files; a target alone does not guarantee that a platform or broadcaster will accept a recording.
