Privacy policy

TinyAudioTools lets you edit audio without an account. Here is what happens to your data when you use this site.
Your audio
Voice recording asks for microphone permission only when you choose Record your voice. Recordings stay in this page's memory until you run a tool, and are not saved to an account. Stopping, cancelling or leaving the page turns off the microphone. Running a tool uploads the recording for processing in the same way as a chosen audio file.
When you run a tool, your audio is uploaded to our server for processing. We delete the uploaded file and the result when the request finishes. Audio files and filenames are not sent to PostHog.
Our hosting provider, OVHcloud, runs the server. Basic connection details, such as your IP address, are needed to deliver the site and keep it working.
Optional analytics and feedback
With your permission, we use PostHog to understand visits, tool use and errors. This can include page addresses, referring pages, browser and device details, a browser ID, tool settings and processing times.
The legal basis for optional analytics, feedback and session replay is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Refusing or withdrawing consent does not affect access to the tools.
If you send feedback through our optional survey, PostHog stores what you write. Please leave private information out of your feedback.
With separate permission, session replay records how you use the page so we can find problems. Audio players and file inputs are excluded; filenames and form inputs are masked.
We use PostHog's EU service. Read PostHog's privacy policy for details about its handling of data and international transfers.
Cookies and your choices
We save your privacy choice, the time you made it and the notice version in this browser's local storage under tat_privacy_choice for 180 days. This essential storage remembers both acceptance and rejection. Missing, expired or outdated choices leave optional tracking off.
PostHog uses a first-party ph_…_posthog cookie and browser storage only after you allow analytics. Its cookie lifetime is limited to 180 days. Browser storage holds identifiers and session information; we remove it on withdrawal or when an expired choice is detected on a later visit. Session replay needs its own permission as well as analytics.
You can reject optional tracking and still use every audio tool. Open Analytics settings below or in any page footer to change these choices. When analytics is enabled, the footer also has a Withdraw analytics consent button that turns all optional tracking off in one click and removes our PostHog cookies and stored IDs.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. The browser control does not itself delete data already sent to PostHog. To request deletion of that data, contact us using the details below.
How long data stays
Audio files are deleted when the processing request ends. Session replays have a 30-day retention setting in our PostHog project. PostHog's plan-based event retention limits which usage events, error reports and survey responses can be queried; it does not itself delete stored events. Deleting that data requires a separate deletion action. You can request erasure using the contact details below.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to support our free tools. Ad availability depends on Google's site approval. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser details and information about visits to this and other websites to deliver, personalise and measure ads, prevent fraud and maintain their services. Audio files and filenames are not provided to Google for advertising.
Where Google ads are available, Google's certified consent management platform presents the advertising choices to visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. You can choose Consent, Do not consent or Manage options. Where consent is required, personalised advertising and advertising cookies depend on your choices. Open Advertising privacy settings in the footer to review or withdraw advertising consent. Limited ads may still be available without personalised advertising consent.
Google manages its consent record and the lifetime of its cookies; consent storage can include FCCDCF and FCNEC. Advertising cookies can include __gads, __gpi and __eoi, depending on the ads and choices that apply. Google and its partners describe their data retention and international transfers in their own policies.
Advertising consent does not enable PostHog analytics or session replay. These remain off unless you separately opt in through Analytics settings.
Our European advertising configuration uses Google's commonly used set of ad partners. See Google's commonly used ad partner list for their names and links to their privacy policies. Google updates this set over time. The consent message lists the partners included in the choices presented to you; inclusion does not mean every partner receives data on every visit.
You can opt out of personalised Google advertising in Google My Ad Center. Other vendors may offer an opt-out on the websites linked in the partner list. You can also use the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out tool for participating vendors. These settings are separate from withdrawing this site's advertising consent.
Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's advertising policy for more about advertising data.
